My story.
I am a proud Gamilaray woman who has dedicated my career to walking alongside families, especially Aboriginal families, through some of life’s most difficult challenges.
For over 20 years, I’ve worked in child protection, family support, and community engagement—leading teams, mentoring staff, and driving cultural change within systems that impact our people. Providing professional development, supervision, financial delegation, role modelling cultural ways of working with families from a holistic approach in collaboration with Elders and community members.
Being the chair for Bearlay Aboriginal Advisory Group and the Chair for the NAIDOC committee whilst also supporting committees within the public hospital sector
My specialist experience includes:
Domestic & Family Violence (DFV)– working with men, women, and children
Managing teams
Specialist skillset in working with Women experiencing DFV
Child protection and restoration processes
Retaining cultural connections during system involvement
Cultural supervision and staff development
Community dispute resolution
Training to address lateral violence and build cultural safety
Facilitating DFV programs in Groups or Individually / Facilitating in correctional centres
Designed my own cultural programs in consultation with Elders
Cultural knowledge is a degree in its own right. Knowledge—combined with my professional experience and qualifications —has shaped how I work: Open, respectful, honest, courageous, and always authentic.
This consultancy is not just for me but also my mob and all whom need support to see their worth and be guided to uphold their dignity. I am humbled to have guidance from our knowledge holders, the clear sign from my ancestors that my time has come. That time is now.
